CWith over 15 years of planning and development experience, Sharon Sumpter is responsible for guiding The Bedford Group through a wide range of the company's business activities. Some of her responsibilities include developing master-planned communities—including several award-winning projects—as well as transportation planning services, and managing The Bedford Group's myriad daily undertakings.
Ms. Sumpter has also had a hand in securing over $200 million in financing thanks in part to her command of municipal revenue bonds, tax credits, conventional and other multi-tiered financing structures. Furthermore, her knowledge of the government planning processes and laws, zoning, land division and environmental review are essential to The Bedford Group's continued success.
Ms. Sumpter received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, and was named "Developer of the Year" in 1995 by Women on Target.
